May 5, 2026 is the official day of Abilene Gives this year. It’s a time of year where residents of Big Country are encouraged to donate their money to an organization or cause that resonates most. With over 200 local non-profits listed on their website, there is no shortage of places that will benefit from the outpouring of financial support.
Dr. Charles M. Taylor, III, DDS is a board member of Nehemiah Abilene.
Dr. Taylor, an orthodontist at Mathur & Taylor Orthodontics, encourages those in a position to give to consider Nehemiah Abilene. Nehemiah Abilene is an organization that seeks to help men in Abilene, TX who have struggled with addiction. Participants are then provided with support for recovery, housing, and rehabilitation resources that are all-too-often lacking in communities across the country. Their motto is, “Retrive. Renew. Rebuild. Restore,” and provides an overview of the type of impactful work they do in our city.

That is why Dr. Taylor wants to showcase this organization today as an opportunity to give. Additionally from 4 P.M. - 5 P.M., Nehemiah Abilene will match every donation given within that hour.
As Dr. Taylor continues to serve in his position, we want to encourage all residents to give where you can today. We look forward to seeing the positive change of the future from the selfless giving that is done today.
