The Scout Guide Abilene Features Mathur & Taylor Orthodontics for Volume 2
For the second year in a row, The Scout Guide (also known as TSG) Abilene is showcasing Mathur & Taylor Orthodontics as a local best.

While the long-standing practice was featured previously in their first volume, this will be the first year Mathur & Taylor Orthodontics is featured under its new name and ownership, which became official in December 2025.
This year’s edition features a fresh look at some of the companies and organizations in Abilene’s small business scene, featuring Dr. Simi Mathur Martin and Dr. Charles Taylor, III. Our orthodontists can be seen striking a pose in front of a Downtown Abilene mural, hand-painted by famed artist Patrick Messersmith.

In the previous edition, Dr. Mathur & Dr. Taylor made their editorial debut for The Scout Guide under Taylor Orthodontics. TSG showcased the pair’s legacy of practicing orthodontics in the Abilene community. Since then, Dr. Taylor has passed down his respected practice to Dr. Mathur.
A Texas native and an enthusiast of all things small business, TSG Founder Kristen Hogue is no stranger to shining a light on places like Mathur & Taylor Orthodontics. From steakhouses to saloon-style bars, there’s no shortage of establishments Hogue has highlighted in her publications.
